The Major Project Form is an innovative new building contract, released from the Joint Contracts Tribunal and RIBA Enterprises Publishing.

Produced in response to increasing industry demand, this new lump sum contract has been developed specifically for experienced clients and contractors who are regularly involved in the procurement of large scale building projects and will reflect amendments currently made to the Standard Form of Building Contracts, JCT 98 and WCD 98.


Shorter in approach and drafting style, the contract will appeal to those clients and users who require limited procedural provisions in the contract, or who already have their own in-house procedures, saving both time and effort at the tender and pre-tender stages of the procurement process.

This release is a welcome addition to the JCT suite of contracts and adopts "collaborative" style, key provisions including; the acceleration of a project, bonus awards for early completion, cost savings and value improvements and addresses the need for a truly comprehensive building contract for both large scale private and public building projects.
